Refund, Exchange and Warranty Policy

WE CANNOT PURCHASE SECOND-HAND OR DIRECT FROM THE PUBLIC.

We are not registered as a second-hand dealer.

Refunds & Returns

Allgem Jewellers is not required to provide a refund or replacement if you change your mind.

You may be eligible for a refund if an item has a major problem, which may include but is not limited to:

  • A defect or issue that would have stopped someone buying the item had they known about it
  • The item is unsafe
  • The item is significantly different from the sample or description

If we determine that the issue with the item is minor, we will repair the item within a reasonable timeframe. If we are unable to repair the item within a reasonable timeframe, you may choose a replacement or to have it refunded.

Refunds will only be made to the payment method used for the original purchase.

Exchanges

You may be eligible to exchange the item within 14 days from the date of purchase. The balance paid will be credited towards another item of stock, as a deposit to a new special order, or as a credit note to be used in-store.

Should you request to exchange a purchase:

The goods must be in As New Condition and be accompanied by proof of purchase, original packaging and with all original documents which includes certificates and valuations; Goods may not be returned if they have been engraved, resized or customised in any way. This includes custom-made pieces such as custom-fitted wedding bands, special orders, and items featuring initial or family crests.

(Ask staff about our extended exchange option if 14 days is too short).

 

Store credit

Store credits are valid for 3 years.

You can receive store credit by exchanging an item purchased through us within our exchange period or via a gift certificate.

Store credit can be used towards the purchase of jewellery in-store, custom-made jewellery, gift vouchers and/or jewellery repairs.

Warranty

Allgem Jewellers offers a 12-month limited jewellery warranty for quality and workmanship from the date of collection and will be replaced or repaired upon assessment. We do not offer additional care plans or insurance.

Our product(s) come with consumer guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law, and the customer is entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure of the item. You are also entitled to have the Product(s) repaired or replaced if the Product(s) fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.

Warranty does not extend to loss, theft or damage contributed to, or as a result of an “accident”, “negligence”, “fair wear and tear” or “Act of God”.  Jewellery items should be maintained as per our product aftercare outline and should be brought in once a year for an inspection.

Proof of purchase is required. Please retain a copy of receipts provided on purchase.

Jewellery Insurance

We do not offer an extended warranty.

A warranty only covers manufacturing errors and excludes accidental damage. Manufacturing errors typically are always noticed within the first 12-months of wear. During this period we offer a complimentary instore warranty.

For your peace of mind… Q Report Jewellery Insurance will cover both loss and damage of your item worldwide over 12-month periods with a flexibility of an additional 50% cover of the items’ value if it has increased.

We can set-up your policy prior to collection of your purchase, in-store at collection, or provide a link for you to set it up yourself at home.

Buy-backs

We cannot buy back any jewellery items we have sold as we do not have a second-hand license.

 

Product aftercare

We advise that jewellery should not be worn during rough activities, sport, housework, gardening, at swimming pools, spas, or at the beach. We recommend removing jewellery when showering & sleeping.

Chemicals in swimming pools and cleaning products may cause adverse effects with metal alloys. Perspiration & salt water, if not cleaned regularly, may discolour metal alloys and can cause deterioration in glue, cord & neoprene jewellery.

Inlay opal, triplets & doublets must avoid exposure to liquids to avoid layer separation. Pearl jewellery that has been glued onto a post must avoid humidity & warm water to avoid glue deterioration. These are not to be worn in the shower or swimming.

Do not spray perfume or use beauty products around jewellery as this can discolour metals and/or damage delicate gemstones including but not limited to pearls, amber, coral, opal & turquoise.

Perspiration & oil build up on jewellery is to be cleaned regularly. Sun-cream, moisturiser and any other products can contribute to dirt building up underneath gemstone settings & inside of necklace clasps. We recommend cleaning your jewellery with mild detergent in warm water with a cloth or soft bristle brush. Sufficiently dry the jewellery before storing away.

Jewellery is not to be stored in direct sunlight or in humid conditions such as the bathroom. We advise jewellery to be stored separately in a container that is airtight to significantly reduce oxidation. Allgem jewellery boxes are not made for long-term storage as they are not airtight.

If you think you have damaged a jewellery item and are concerned, please bring it in for inspection.

 

Shipping returns

Contact us in advance if you’re returning your product for exchange or warranty.

To return your product, you should mail your product to: 653 Hay Street Mall, Corner of London Court Arcade, Perth WA 6000.

 

You will be responsible for paying for your own shipping costs for returning your item. Shipping costs are non-refundable.

 

Depending on where you live, the time it may take for your exchanged product to reach you may vary.

If you are returning items of high value, you may consider using a trackable shipping service or purchasing shipping insurance. We don’t guarantee that we will receive your returned item.
